Through the valley towards Grossmont. Posted by Picasa

The train ride first climbs a slight slope up the valley, along creeks, trees, swamps. The leave-less trees show their bizarre shapes of branches, wild meadows with try reddish heather and yellow-brown swamp grass stretch up to the side walls of the valley. Once the "peak" has been reached, the ride goes down towards Goathland and Grossmont, and the landscape becomes greener, with "real" meadows instead of swamps. The picturesque station "Goathland" has been featured in the Harry Potter movies.
