I went to bed at 2am local time. In the morning I wake up at 8 am. Sounds good, there is enough time to get ready, have breakfast before the meeting begins at 9am. Suddenly I realise that in Romania there is one additional hour time zone difference - and that it actually is already past nine! So will I ever be punctual at a meeting during this trip? I rush to get ready, go to the breakfast room, it is now 9:30. Well, so what - I just will be late. Then in the breakfast room I see someone else from the workshop, whom I have met the night before in the hotel lobby. So I am not the only one who is late. I join him. Then there are others trickling in - well, they do not seem to have a good discipline regarding their workshop schedule. But it turns out that I was wrong - I actually had set my watch already to the correct time... and so it really is 8:30 now, and actually I will be in time for the workshop.
A great bunch of people. Some from Italy, two from Spain, one from Cyrpus, three locally from Romania, and me and my colleague from the UK. The main point of this project is to develop a web site for eLearning resources.
We discuss web site content and budget constraints.
For lunch we go to the restaurant "La Mama", and for dinner we go to the restaurant "Burebista". I accept food recommendations by Claudiu, who lives here in Bucharest, and I do not regret a single one. Such excellent dishes - great flavor, and low price. Lunch is about 8 Euro (3 courses), full dinner with wine costs about 35 Euro. Live music at dinner, a Romanian group with traditional instruments, in a rustic hunter-themed environment. The socialising goes until past midnight, then we head back to the hotel.
